11/22/2011 · Use a 10W/30 engine oil. IMHO you will not get great fuel consumption economy in a VY commodore V6 in city running in MEL or SYD traffic. It’s a relatively heavy car (over 1500 kgs) with a 3.8 litre motor and that is not a formula for good city fuel economy in normal city driving conditions, especially when you add in the S/Charger.

6/18/2013 · If you are doing mainly city driving maybe reset the trip computer and take a cruise along a hyway and check how your economy goes, it should be allot less then 15L per 100kms. If it isn’t then you may have a faulty sensor somewhere causing bad economy.
I have had my VS Commodore V6 wagon for two years now and have tried everything I can think of to lower the fuel consumption from the 20 L/100 km I get. I’ve changed the throttle body, the idle air control valve, coolant temp sensor, throttle position sensor, and both oxygen sensors. None have had any effect, so last week I replaced the injectors.
